[Artist's Statement for The Artwork]
"This work was born from a desire to record the moment spring arrives.
For me, spring begins with the sound of plum blossoms blooming.
When the plum branches sent by a friend started to bloom, I didn't want to miss the chance. While preparing for the shoot, I searched for an object to match these flowers and chose the Joseon white porcelain jar, 'Moon Jar.' I felt it was a flower suited to the moonlight, and I believed the images of plum blossoms and the moon jar would quietly resonate with each other.
I carefully photographed the flowers to prevent them from wilting, while also observing their wilting process.
I believe that all things embody the meaning of time and life. As I watched the flowers gradually wilt in the studio, I felt a sense of life even there.
Therefore, in this work, I chose a scene in which the most beautiful moment and the moment just before wilting coexist. Perhaps the most beautiful time in life is such a moment.
In this work, the moon jar plays a quiet supporting role, enhancing the plum blossoms. Embracing the branches and flowers, it supports the center of the frame and the overall balance.
In the scene where these two presences meet, I attempted to express the sound of spring's arrival as 'seeing' and 'feeling'."

All artworks are printed by the artist themselves on Hanji, traditional Korean handmade paper.
The images, deeply permeated into the fibers of the Hanji, carry traces of time, creating a unique expression that blurs the boundaries between photography and painting.
