2024
Materials: earthenware clay, Wood
50 × 35 × 30 cm
Contemporary ceramic artist Kouzou Takeuchi has gained attention both in Japan and abroad for his outstanding handmade techniques and delicate sensibility.
Inspired by architecture and ruins, this series of works is a three-dimensional construction of geometric patterns formed by shaping clay into plates using the Tatara technique. Sanding the surface before firing achieves the clay's simple taste and weathered texture. These three-dimensional objects stand out for their architectural form.
