Through paintings and objects, Yamada explores the cyclical relationship between earth and stone.
Using materials such as Datekanmuri Stone, once cherished by sculptor Isamu Noguchi, and Okura Sabi Earth, he creates works inspired by the natural landscape of Miyagi and the memories of the earth and traces of time embedded in Okurayama.
