SMP GALLERY is pleased to present "Never Ever," the first solo exhibition in two years by Kouzo Takeuchi, a ceramic artist and modeling artist who creates innovative and beautiful forms using ceramic and porcelain clay with a keen sensibility.
Kouzo Takeuchi's past solo exhibition, "Recollection" (2011 Celebrity Artist Invitation Program✕ Thematic Exhibition December 9, 2023 - February 25, 2024), held at the Museum of Ceramic Art, Hyogo, was a significant milestone in his career.
The artist's spirituality is projected onto his works. Since then, he has continued to create and produce ceramics without burning out, without being overambitious or conceited, and without losing sight of the materials he is working with.
The "Modern Remains" series creates challenging forms in porcelain clay under the theme of "construction and destruction. On the other hand, he created the "Modern Ruins" series of works in ceramic clay, reminiscent of stone architecture and ruins and seemingly contains the passage of time.
We cordially invite you to immerse yourself in the artist's unique spirit and worldview, which transcends time and space, through these two distinct styles of work.
