About the Artist

Born in Aomori Prefecture, Yoshitaka Koshiya resides in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture. He studied under Takeji Iwamiya, who pursued the beauty of Japan. While working as an advertising photographer in Tokyo (1972-2013), he has traveled around Japan and abroad to photograph landscapes as a fine artist since 2006.

Koshiya prints all of his photographs, which are outstanding for their delicate, painterly beauty and color tones.

He spends his days creating an archive of the vast number of photographs he has taken over the years and refining his printing techniques. Between these activities, he gets into his beloved Volkswagen and travels around Japan, taking pictures of the country's landscapes.
