11:00 ~ 20:00, Last Day: ~ 18:00
To celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the publication of the modern Kogei Art Book "There I Sense Something" by the product designer Yumi Terauchi, we have an exhibition to showcase her products featured in the book along with new pieces.
2021~22 were transformative years for Terauchi, a proof to her unwavering dedication and talent. She not only self-published the book but also received the prestigious "Grand Prize" of the 25th "Japan Self-Publishing Culture Award". In a bold move, she relocated her base from Tokyo to her hometown, Karatsu in Saga prefecture, and founded a contemporary craft gallery, "TOKIWAGI".
Her intention in producing the book was to record the beauty of the work of Japanese artisans so that the next generation and the world would inherit and enjoy them. The photographer Yoshitaka Koshiya and our own, Masako Matsuura, as a project editor, were her collaborators for the book.
Koshiya's newly printed photographs are exhibited and available for purchase.
