June 13, Fri - June 29, Sun, 2025
11:00 - 20:00 (Last day ~ 17:00)
In the “BLUE+/Blue Plus” exhibition, artists and studios from different genres such as painting, photography, woodblock print, woodworking, and Japanese lacquer will exhibit works that resonate around the color “BLUE.” Blue is one of the three primary colors of light (red, green, and blue) and one of the four primary colors of psychology (red, yellow, green, and blue). However, the images and impressions associated with the color blue vary from person to person. We associate it with the azure sky, “sky blue,” the deep blue of the ocean, light blue, and other shades, as well as traditional Japanese colors such as lapis lazuli, turquoise, and indigo, which are characterized by their transparency and vividness in blue. The impression and feeling of color change depending on the saturation and lightness of the color.
We hope you will enjoy the charm of the color blue, which varies depending on the expression method and material used in the work, as well as the subtle nuance of the texture revealed through the blue in our gallery.
